The Golden Tusk Resort in the world-famous Jim Corbett National Park has always been one of my favourite places to stay when I am traveling in this part of Uttarakhand. This detailed review of The Golden Tusk will tell you why I keep coming back here! Tucked away in the peaceful village of Dhela, just a short drive from the Dhela and Jhirna safari zones, the property perfectly balances nature, comfort, and understated luxury. Spread across lush green acres with landscaped gardens, lotus ponds, and open spaces, it feels like a calm retreat far from city chaos.
The resort offers a wide range of accommodations, from elegant Suites and Villas to charming Luxury Tents, each thoughtfully designed with ample space, natural light, and earthy tones that blend beautifully with the surroundings. My favourite part is how every corner of the property reflects the spirit of Corbett — wild yet peaceful, simple yet luxurious. The outdoor pool, the beautiful Shri Krishna temple, the open lawns, and the sit-out areas next to ponds make it a perfect place to unwind.

Why I chose to stay at The Golden Tusk?
When my close friends Rahul, Sneha and their son Bunny from Mumbai called me, asking for suggestions on where to stay in Jim Corbett, I didn’t waste a second. I told them, “Hey, I’m joining you—and we’re staying at The Golden Tusk and my word is final!” It’s truly one of the best places to stay near the Jhirna Zone of Jim Corbett National Park. It was my friend’s very first trip to Uttarakhand and to Jim Corbett, so I wanted to make sure their experience was absolutely memorable. What’s more? I even clubbed my trip to the lovely Chamomile Estate in Guniyalekh, Mukteshwar, located merely 3.5 hours apart. The best part is that both Chamomile Estate and The Golden Tusk is managed by Ivory Destinations. This made our planning quick and efficient. Read The Chamomile Estate review on my blog.
I couldn’t think of a better place than The Golden Tusk Resort to give my friends the perfect introduction to the region’s charm, hospitality, and natural beauty. From the moment we arrived, my friends were impressed—by the serene ambience, the spacious rooms, the lush greenery all around, and the warm, efficient staff. The resort made everything so effortless and comfortable that my friends instantly fell in love with the place.

And of course, the highlight of our trip was the thrilling jungle safari in the Phato Zone. Watching wildlife in their natural habitat after such a luxurious and peaceful stay felt like the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation. By the end of it, my friends told me they couldn’t have asked for a better first experience of Uttarakhand—and I couldn’t have been happier with my choice of The Golden Tusk.
To add, my friends were accompanied by their only son, the 4 years old Bunny. So, I wanted to select a property where there are many activities for kids to do. No wonder, Bunny fully enjoyed his stay, doing various activities such as art and craft classes, ziplining, pebble painting and what not!

Welcome at The Golden Tusk: My second home of sorts!
The first thing about The Golden Tusk that strikes me every time I arrive is the soothing atmosphere — the chirping of birds, the tranquillity, the gentle breeze from the nearby forest, and the warm smiles that greet you at the reception. From Ghaziabad, we took a road trip to the Golden Tusk and reached within 5 hours. As soon as we parked our car, the staff assured us not to worry about the luggage and ushered us directly to the reception. We were served the delicious Rhododendron juice as soon as we entered the reception. After a smooth check in, we were ushered to the room by the staff. Needless to say, the luggage had quickly arrived.
Suresh Ji, the one-point contact for all facilities in the premium property, greeted us personally. During my first stay in the Golden Tusk, I visited with my dad. Suresh ji and dad had good bonding during the stay and so did I bond with Suresh ji. We are now more of friends than service provider and service consumer. This makes our stay even more comfortable. No wonder, the Golden Rusk has started to feel like a second home now!

Why is The Golden Tusk Resort so popular?
The Golden Tusk is popular not only for its location near the safari gates but also for its excellent service, delicious food, and well-planned experiences like nature walks, cycling, and bonfire evenings. What I love most about staying here is how it makes me feel both close to nature and completely pampered at the same time. Whether I’m sipping tea by the pond, watching birds roam freely, or returning from an early morning tiger safari, there’s always a sense of serenity that lingers. For me, The Golden Tusk isn’t just a resort — it’s a home in the wilderness where luxury meets the raw beauty of the forest.
The logo and nomenclature of the Golden Tusk Resort in Jim Corbett National Park
The Golden Tusk Resort, located in Village Dhela near Jim Corbett National Park, derives its name and logo from the majestic Asian elephants that roam the region. The nomenclature “Golden Tusk” beautifully combines the ideas of luxury and wilderness — “golden” signifying opulence, warmth, and the golden hues of nature, while “tusk” represents the grandeur of elephants, symbolising strength, heritage, and wildlife.
The resort’s logo features a stylised golden elephant tusk paired with clean, bold typography spelling “THE GOLDEN TUSK.” The use of metallic-gold tones conveys elegance and premium quality, while the tusk motif reflects the resort’s deep connection with the natural surroundings of Jim Corbett. Together, the name and logo embody the essence of the brand — a luxurious nature retreat that celebrates wildlife, tranquility, and the spirit of the forest.

My stay experience at the Golden Tusk, Jim Corbett National Park
During my first stay at The Golden Tusk Resort, I was accommodated in Villa No. 201, located right beside the spacious reception area — a great choice if you wish to enjoy the same experience. Just outside my villa stood a serene Shri Krishna temple, which added a spiritual touch to the surroundings. I truly appreciated the resort management’s thoughtful initiative to build such a beautiful temple within the property.
This time, I stayed in Villa Hibiscus which is Villa number 212, my friends Rahul, Sneha and their son, Bunny stayed in the adjoining Villa Heliconia, which is Room number 211. The fact that our Villas were just few meters apart, made it very easy for us to co-ordinate for activities such as morning village walks, jungle safari and having meals together.
During my stay at The Golden Tusk Resort near Jim Corbett, I was lucky to experience one of their beautiful Villas, i.e., Villa Hibiscus, spread across a generous 600 sq. ft. on the ground floor. Designed to accommodate three adults or a family with children, these villas are surrounded by lush, exotic plantations that create a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere. I loved spending time in my private outdoor sitting area, soaking in the sounds of nature and the views of the resort’s beautifully landscaped gardens.

Inside, the villa was thoughtfully designed — I had a king-sized bed, a walk-in wardrobe, a dressing room, and a spacious bathroom to myself! The lounge area, separated from the bedroom by a sliding door, was perfect for families needing extra privacy or space for kids. Modern comforts such as Wi-Fi, a tea station, mini refrigerator, satellite TV, and a heat convector made the stay both cozy and luxurious.
What I truly enjoyed about staying in the villa at The Golden Tusk Resort, Jim Corbett National Park, was the incredible sense of space it offered. The villa is beautifully spacious, and the layout is very thoughtfully designed. Even the sit-out area inside the villa is separated by a wooden sliding door, which gives a wonderful sense of privacy. I really appreciated this feature because it allows you to relax and sleep in peace while your friends can sit, chat, or unwind in the lounge area without disturbing you.

The sitting area opens up to stunning views of a small water stream flowing through the property, complete with a fountain, fish, and aquatic plants — a truly soothing sight. There are also two additional sit-out areas right outside the villa, offering multiple cozy corners to relax. One of my favorite spots was the outdoor sitting area, perfect for enjoying the winter sun while reading a book, chatting with friends, or simply soaking in the tranquil surroundings. Overall, it’s a very well-designed and thoughtfully planned villa that makes your stay both comfortable and memorable.
Talking about the room, it exudes a sense of spaciousness and comfort. There’s ample space on all three sides of the bed, which adds to the airy feel of the room. The king-size bed is exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. Right in front of the bed are two large windows that fill the room with natural light. Each window has blinds, allowing you to control the light according to your mood — whether you want a bright, sunny ambience or a cozy, dimly lit vibe.
The room is also well-equipped with all essential amenities, including a television, telephone, a coffee table, chairs, and a writing desk. Overall, it’s a thoughtfully designed space that perfectly blends comfort and functionality.
Now let’s talk about the washroom. The bathroom here is absolutely spacious — the sense of openness it provides is incredible. Since I personally love big bathrooms, I was delighted to see such a large and well-planned space. The WC and washbasin areas are generously sized, and the shower panel is huge, adding to the overall comfort. Biotique Royale toiletries were fragrant and good quality!
Right next to the bathroom is a spacious luggage rack that helps you organize your bags neatly, ensuring the room remains uncluttered. Adjoining it is a wardrobe where you can arrange your clothes systematically and store your valuables safely in the electronic locker provided.
Overall, I think this villa is a perfect choice for families and groups of friends. It’s conveniently located right next to the Golden Forest Restaurant, and just a short walk from both the Krishna Temple and the reception area — making everything easily accessible and adding to the comfort of your stay.

Lavish Breakfast Buffet at The Golden Forest Restaurant
The lavish breakfast buffet at The Golden Forest Restaurant in The Golden Tusk Resort was one of the highlights of my stay. The restaurant’s elegant design, with its high ceilings, earthy tones, and large windows overlooking the greenery, created a bright and inviting ambiance. The space was huge, allowing guests to move around comfortably, whether seated indoors or in the beautiful outdoor area overlooking the garden.
I relished a variety of vegetarian Indian dishes like aloo paratha, poha, idli, and chole bhature, along with non-Indian options such as pancakes, baked beans, and sautéed vegetables. South Indian food like Masala Dosa, Utthapam, Mendu Vada, Idli, etc were also excellent and came with 4 types of delicious chutneys! I also enjoyed sampling upma, savoury sewai, nachos etc.

I love a well-made Kanda Batata Poha, but I usually avoid eating it outside because most places just don’t get it right. So, I was genuinely excited and delighted to see a perfectly prepared poha at the buffet of The Golden Forest restaurant at The Golden Tusk. It was made exactly to my taste and turned out to be one of the best pohas I’ve ever had outside my home. It truly surprised and pleased me, which is why much of my breakfast that morning consisted of poha.
I was absolutely spoilt for choice at The Golden Forest Restaurant’s lavish breakfast spread. The buffet was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. I started my morning with a refreshing plate of cut fruits, sprouts, and freshly squeezed juices before moving on to toast and an array of breads, doughnuts, and warm cinnamon rolls. The lavish cheese platter was delightful — with assorted cheeses, crisp lettuce, olives, cherry tomatoes, and creamy hummus paired perfectly with soft pita bread.

For a comforting touch, I relished the sooji halwa, grilled tomatoes, hash browns, scrambled mushrooms, and herbed potatoes. And just when I thought I was done, the irresistible display of cupcakes, fruit cakes, and buttery dry cakes tempted me again. Every bite was flavorful and indulgent — the kind of breakfast that makes you want to linger a little longer, sipping your coffee and soaking in the relaxed morning vibe.
Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, clearly prepared with care. The service was excellent — the staff was polite, quick, and always smiling. I also appreciated how neat and well-maintained the washrooms were, adding to the overall comfort of the experience. It truly made my mornings at The Golden Tusk special and indulgent.
At The Golden Tusk in Jim Corbett National Park, breakfast is served in The Golden Forest Restaurant from 8:00 am to 10:30 am. To help you plan better, I would like to suggest you that the peak service hours are between 9:00 am and 10:30 am, during which it gets extremely busy. Your estimated table allocation time around this period is approximately 21 minutes.

Lunch and dinner buffet with Live band
Our lunch at The Golden Forest Restaurant in The Golden Tusk was a delightful experience, both for the palate and the eyes. The lavish spread included soups, Thai curry with steamed rice, pasta, kadi pakoda, dal handi with ghee tadka, kadhai paneer, palak mushroom, methi malai matar, veg sangam, spaghetti in Neapolitana sauce, and hakka noodles — each dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.
I personally relished the creamy veg Thai curry, perfectly balanced spaghetti, and the rich kadhai paneer and methi malai matar paired with fresh breads. The desserts were irresistible — assorted ice creams, butter cookie crunch, brownies, fruit cream, lancha (stuffed gulab jamun), rice kheer, and my absolute favorite, the silky kiwi mousse. Every bite was perfection. I also had the pleasure of meeting the Executive Chef, whose passion for detail reflects in every dish, and the courteous service staff ensured the entire dining experience was seamless and memorable.

Our dinner at The Golden Forest Restaurant in The Golden Tusk was an indulgent affair that celebrated both variety and taste. We began with the flavorful roasted garlic soup and a refreshing spread of salads — Turkish cucumber, balsamic roasted vegetables, watermelon feta salad, and German potato salad — each bursting with freshness. I loved the thoughtful addition of assorted chutneys, pickles, dressings, and unique salts like saunf, jeera, green chilli, and garlic flavours, along with pickled onions, curd, and raita.

The main course was equally impressive, featuring steamed rice, assorted Indian breads, yellow dal tadka, dal makhni, Gujarati kadhi with dal khichdi, and paneer masala. The aroma of desi ghee wafting through the air added a homely touch, while the hakka noodles and manchurian offered a Chinese twist. Dessert was pure bliss — from black forest pastry and beetroot halwa to shahi tukda, banana pudding, and chocolate eclairs — each dish beautifully crafted and irresistibly delicious. What’s more? They even had a live music band performing in the restaurant during dinner! Duo band performs at the restaurant mostly between 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Enjoy Food of Kumaun
On special request, during my last stay in The Golden Tusk, the talented chefs here delighted us with an authentic spread of Kumaoni delicacies that truly captured the essence of the hills. They lovingly prepared bhat ki chudkani, gahat ki daal, nimbu saan, bhaang ki chutney, mooli ki thechwani, and alu ke gutke, all served with warm manduwe ki roti and a side of flavorful local saag.
Each dish carried the rustic charm and wholesome taste of the Kumaon region, cooked with local ingredients and traditional techniques. To end on a sweet note, we savoured regional desserts like singodi, chocolate mithai, and the ever-famous baal mithai — each bite a nostalgic reminder of Uttarakhand’s Mountain kitchens. It was a heartwarming, soulful experience that added a distinct local touch to our stay at The Golden Tusk.

The Jungle Grill speciality restaurant
The Jungle Grill specialty restaurant at The Golden Tusk offers a truly unique dining experience under the open sky, surrounded by the serene wilderness of Jim Corbett. The ambiance is rustic yet elegant, with warm lighting and earthy décor that perfectly complements the forest vibe. The menu features a tempting selection of grilled delights — from smoky kebabs and sizzling tikkas to hearty vegetarian platters and barbecued treats. The aroma of live grills fills the air, making every bite flavorful and memorable. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed evening, great conversations, and a taste of the wild.
After our thrilling Jungle Safari in the Phato Zone, we headed straight to the Jungle Grill Speciality Restaurant at The Golden Tusk. The ambience here instantly put us at ease — soothing, warm, and beautifully lit. Unlike the buffet offerings, the menu here felt distinctive, adding to the experience. I enjoyed a comforting cup of hot coffee, while my friend opted for black coffee. We were served a delightful spread of assorted cakes, cookies, sandwiches, bruschetta, and crispy French fries — each one absolutely delicious. Whether you’re planning a romantic date, treating your parents or kids, or simply looking to unwind with your Valentine, Jungle Grill is the perfect place to relax and savour the moment. The romantic setting here makes this restaurant best for the couples.

I checked into The Chamomile Estate at around 5:00 PM, after which I was given a lovely tour of the property. At 6:00 PM, I enjoyed a relaxing high tea featuring their special tea-tasting menu. As the evening set in, we gathered around a bonfire at 6:30 PM, accompanied by delicious snacks. Later, at 8:30 PM, I spent a cozy evening by the fireplace listening to retro music, and finally, wrapped up the day with a delightful dinner at the restaurant at 9:30 PM.

Day 2 – 23rd October
The next morning began early with a nature and bird walk at 7:00 AM led by the in-house naturalist. After exploring the beautiful surroundings, I had a hearty breakfast at 9:00 AM. At 1:00 PM, I enjoyed a picnic lunch in the serene Chamomile surroundings followed by a quick trip to Nainital.
Later in the evening, at 5:00 PM, we returned back and joined a fun high tea session with more tea tasting and light-hearted games like rope dance and tongue twisters. At 6:00 PM, we watched a movie under the stars with snacks—a truly magical experience! The day ended perfectly with dinner at the restaurant at 9:30 PM.

The day began early with breakfast at 7:00 AM, followed by my departure for The Golden Tusk at 8:30 AM. After a scenic drive, I arrived at The Golden Tusk around 1 PM. Soon after, I enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Golden Forest restaurant.

We did a quick check-in at our rooms and got ready in a jiffy for a busy day ahead. As soon as the lunch was over, we hopped on to the in-house safari jeep for an evening ride inside the dense jungle.
Post lunch, at 1:30 PM, I headed out for an exciting Phato gate jungle Safari, which was one of the highlights of the trip. Later that evening, I had a wonderful dinner at the Golden Forest at 8:30 PM, wrapping up a day full of adventure and great memories.
After the safari, we enjoyed hot coffee and snacks at the Jungle Grill followed by another lavish buffet during the dinner. The point I’m trying to make is that all of this was made possible by the efficient and proactive staff at The Golden Tusk, and that too within just half a day.
Day 4 – 25th October
The next morning started with a refreshing village walk at 6:30 AM, allowing me to experience the local life up close. I then had a hearty breakfast at 8:00 AM at the Golden Forest. Birdwatching in The Golden Tusk
Birdwatching at The Golden Tusk Resort in Jim Corbett National Park is a truly rewarding experience, especially for someone like me who loves spending quiet mornings with binoculars in hand. The resort’s lush gardens, tall trees, and water bodies attract a variety of birds, making it a paradise for bird lovers. During my stay, I spotted several beautiful species right within the property — Indian rollers, red-vented bulbuls, hornbills, rose-ringed parakeets, white-throated kingfishers, coppersmith barbets, drongos, and even the majestic peacocks that often roam freely on the lawns.

Early mornings are the best time to explore, when the air is cool and filled with melodious calls of tailorbirds, sunbirds, and oriental magpie-robins. What I particularly loved about birdwatching at The Golden Tusk was the sense of calm and connection with nature it offered. I didn’t have to go deep into the forest — the birds came to me. Sitting by the pond or under a tree near my villa, I could spend hours observing their movements and colours. For an avid birdwatcher like me, this mix of comfort and wilderness felt perfect — a reminder that true beauty often lies just outside your window.
Bonfire in the garden of The Golden Tusk
One of my favourite evenings at The Golden Tusk Resort was spent around a warm bonfire in the garden. As the night settled over the forest, the soft crackle of the fire and the cool Corbett breeze created the perfect atmosphere. Sitting under the starlit sky, surrounded by fellow travellers, we shared stories, laughter, and endless cups of tea. The staff made sure everything was perfectly arranged — from cozy seating to light music playing softly in the background. That evening truly captured the essence of Corbett for me — peaceful, rustic, and beautifully connected with nature.

After all, the combination of excellent food, beautiful surroundings, and the option to enjoy wildlife safaris nearby makes it an unbeatable destination for office outings. There’s truly so much for teams to do here — it’s the perfect blend of productivity, relaxation, and adventure.

Cycling near Jhirna and Dhela Zone of Jim Corbett National Park
During my previous visit to the Golden Tusk Resort, I had the wonderful opportunity to go on a cycling tour with Suresh ji, exploring the beautiful surroundings of the property. The Jhirna Zone and Dhela Zone of Jim Corbett National Park are actually within walking distance from the resort, making it a perfect base for short outdoor excursions. We began our ride from the resort and cycled all the way to a hilltop temple nearby.
After parking our bicycles at a shop below, we climbed up the stairs to the temple, where we met the friendly caretaker who shared a few local stories with us. From the temple grounds, we could see spotted deer roaming freely across the fence — a sight that made the moment even more magical. We even plucked and ate some fresh fruits straight from the trees around the temple. It was a simple yet refreshing experience, deeply connected with nature.
After spending some peaceful time there, we cycled down towards a nearby Dhela river area, surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil scenery. We relaxed by the water for a while, dipping our feet in and soaking in the calm atmosphere before heading back to the resort. This cycling activity is best enjoyed either in the morning or evening, as the afternoons can get quite warm — Jim Corbett lies in a plain region, and the sun can be strong during the day.
Bicycles can be easily rented right next to the reception area at the Golden Tusk. The rental prices are quite reasonable, and you can hire them for any duration that suits you. You’re free to explore the scenic areas around the property or even enjoy a leisurely ride within the resort itself. The resort’s vast grounds make it ideal for cycling, and I noticed several children joyfully riding their bikes inside the premises. It’s a simple, refreshing, and fun-filled way to experience the natural beauty of Jim Corbett and the serene countryside surrounding the Golden Tusk. The Den: Kid Zone at The Golden Tusk Resort
At The Golden Tusk, one of the places that Bunny — the son of my friends Rahul and Sneha — absolutely loved was The Den, a fun-filled indoor activity zone for kids. He spent hours playing table tennis, trying his hand at carrom and chess, and enjoying the indoor swings. There were also plenty of board games like Ludo, Snakes and Ladders, and Monopoly that kept him entertained. What I particularly loved was the creative side of the space — Bunny joined the art and craft sessions, painting and making small souvenirs to take back home. It was pure joy watching him so engaged and happy.
It’s very rare that I travel with a child, so when my friends told me they were planning a trip to Jim Corbett, I knew this journey was going to be a little different from my usual adventures. Along with them came their adorable four-year-old son, Bunny. We set out together by car from Ghaziabad to Jim Corbett National Park, enjoying the scenic drive along the way. To keep Bunny entertained, we had packed a few games and activities, which made the journey even more fun.
When we arrived at The Golden Tusk resort, we were delighted to see how kid-friendly the place was. There were plenty of activities designed especially for children — cycling, zip lining, the Burma Bridge, and a variety of swings spread across the property. The resort also offers several indoor games such as Monopoly, Chess, Ludo, card games etc to keep kids engaged. One of the highlights was the dedicated indoor kids’ zone, open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Here, children can take part in art and craft sessions and try their hand at painting on different items like plates, bottles, mugs, and even pebbles. The space is cheerful and creative, filled with colorful children’s books — a refreshing sight in an age when fewer kids seem to enjoy reading. The indoor area also features a table tennis setup, a snooker table, and cozy indoor swings, ensuring there’s something for every age group.
Bunny had a fantastic time exploring all these activities, but his absolute favorite was zip lining. In fact, just before we checked out, he insisted on doing it one last time — his laughter echoing through the resort as he zipped across. And truly, as the saying goes — if the child is happy, the trip is successful. This visit to Jim Corbett was special not just for the destination, but for the joy of seeing Bunny so thrilled and engaged throughout.
The resort offers a wide range of indoor games for guests to enjoy. Options include pool table, table tennis, carrom, chess, monopoly, scrabble, ludo or snakes and ladders, uno, playing cards, and building blocks. The pool table is available for guests aged 12 years and above and is chargeable at a reasonable price per hour. Guests are requested not to carry any belongings of this room outside.

Enjoy outdoor games at The Golden Tusk
Outdoor games are spread across the resort, offering a variety of activities for all age groups. Guests can enjoy cycling (cycles and tricycles available for all age groups, chargeable per hour), badminton, basketball, volleyball, frisbee, cricket kit, football, water polo, and croquet. For those seeking adventure, the resort also features several adventure sports such as flying fox, wall climbing, rappelling, ladder climbing, and tyre web. While checking out, our 4 years old Bunny enjoyed wall climbing and ziplining immensely.
Additional activities like the Burma bridge, zig zag, and commando’s net are available for children aged 4 to 12 years, with adult supervision advised. Activities for guests aged 12 years and above may also require supervision and are chargeable. Guests are kindly requested to handle all games and equipment with care.

Whether you’re catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet drink alone, Gin Bar at The Golden Tusk promises a memorable and classy experience. It overlooks the Plumeria Garden and is located right next to the Tatva Gym and Den-the indoor kid zone!
Flute Show and High Tea at The Golden Tusk
One of the most serene experiences during my stay at The Golden Tusk was the delightful Flute Show and High Tea organized in the lush garden area. As the golden evening light filtered through the trees, a local artist played soulful flute tunes that perfectly blended with the sounds of nature. I sipped on aromatic tea and savored delicious snacks like sandwiches, pakoras, cupcakes and cookies, all served with warmth and grace. The combination of soothing music, refreshing tea, and the tranquil Corbett atmosphere made it a truly peaceful and memorable experience — a moment of calm I’ll always cherish. When I visited, the notice board suggested that ‘Hi tea; with Tambola was taking place at the main Plumeria lawn between 5p.m. to 6 p.m.

Jogging inside the tracks of The Golden Tusk Resort
I loved my refreshing morning jog along The Golden Tusk’s scenic tracks. The cool Corbett breeze, chirping birds, and the fragrance of dew-kissed grass made it an energizing start to the day. The neatly maintained pathways wind through lush gardens, giving a sense of calm and connection with nature at every step.
Nature Walk inside the The Golden Tusk Resort
The Golden Tusk Resort in Jim Corbett is home to a wide variety of in-house plant species, thoughtfully planted across its lush landscape. These include different varieties of bamboo, sindoor plant, citronella, lemongrass, and bay leaf (tej patta). The property also features aloe vera, areca palm, hibiscus, money plant, bougainvillea, Chandan tree, ferns, neem, tulsi (holy basil), and ficus or rubber plant, all adding to the resort’s natural charm and serene ambience. The best part is that each tree in the resort is thoughtfully labeled with a nameplate displaying its regular name and scientific name, turning the entire property into a botanist’s paradise.
One morning, the in-house naturalist took me on a guided nature trail around the property, and it turned out to be a truly fascinating experience. He introduced me to a wide variety of plant species thoughtfully planted across the resort. I was surprised to discover that there are so many different types of bamboo, each distinct in its appearance and texture. The landscaping has been done with great care and attention to detail, blending aesthetics with ecological balance.
During the walk, I also got to see some unique and interesting plants such as the sindoor plant, which I had never come across before, and the citronella plant, known for its use in making mosquito repellents like Odomos. There were also lemongrass plants, famous for their refreshing aroma and use in herbal teas, and the bay leaf plant—commonly known as tej patta in Hindi.
The naturalist explained the uses and characteristics of each plant, making the trail both educational and enjoyable. It was a beautiful way to connect with nature and appreciate the biodiversity that the property nurtures so carefully.
Sweat it out in the Tatva gym at The Golden Tusk
Sweat it out at Tatva Gym in The Golden Tusk, a well-designed fitness space that combines functionality with scenic beauty. Located conveniently next to the Gin Tree Bar and Den, the gym features modern equipment, a spacious layout, and a calming ambience. The treadmill faces the lush garden, offering a refreshing view while you run, and the large mirrors enhance the sense of openness. Whether you’re into strength training, cardio, or stretching, the setup motivates you to stay on track with your fitness goals even while on vacation. It’s a perfect balance of health, comfort, and nature.

Swimming Pools
The Golden Tusk boasts of two beautifully designed swimming pools that cater to different moods and experiences. The main pool is the larger one, perfect for families and groups. It has an adjoining smaller kids’ pool, ensuring that little ones can safely enjoy a splash while adults relax nearby. It is also not deep. The poolside area features reclining loungers, hammocks in the adjacent garden, and a nearby washroom for convenience.
Its location offers quick access to the indoor kids’ zone, Gin Tree Bar, sprawling lawns, and the gym — making it a social and lively spot. I even had a fun photo shoot here, and the poolside pictures turned out amazing.
The other pool, on the other hand, is smaller and more exclusive, surrounded by villas and lush greenery that create a sense of privacy and calm. It’s ideal for couples or those seeking solitude and scenic views. Watching the sunrise or sunset from here is a serene experience, as the shimmering water beautifully reflects the golden hues of the sky. Whether you want to swim laps, unwind with a drink, or simply float and gaze at the trees, both pools at The Golden Tusk promise relaxation and rejuvenation amidst nature.
Village Walk around The Golden Tusk
On the day of our checkout, Rahul and I woke up early while the little one was still asleep with his mother. We decided to take a morning village walk around the Golden Tusk Resort to soak in the peaceful countryside vibes. As we stepped out, the first rays of the sun bathed the wheat fields in a soft golden glow, creating a picture-perfect scene. The earthy aroma of fresh cow dung filled the air — a scent so rustic and authentic that it instantly reminded us of village life in its purest form.
We passed by local villagers beginning their day, tending to their fields and livestock. Buffaloes and cows grazed lazily, unbothered by the world, while the women sat on charpoys, spreading badiyan (dried lentil dumplings) to dry in the sun. It was a simple, unhurried walk — but one that offered a beautiful glimpse into rural life around Jim Corbett, far removed from the chaos of city living.
That morning walk turned out to be truly therapeutic for both Rahul and me. Living in Delhi and Mumbai, we rarely get to experience such calm and serenity. It was the perfect opportunity to disconnect from the chaos of city life and reconnect with the simplicity of slow mornings. Walking through the quiet village paths, surrounded by fields and fresh air, helped us slow down, breathe deeply, and truly appreciate the peaceful rhythm of rural life. It was a refreshing departure from our usual hustle and bustle.

Wedding destination
I visited the Golden Tusk Resort in the last week of October, and I could already sense the excitement building up for the upcoming wedding season. As winter approaches, this resort truly transforms — after all, the months of November, December, and January are considered peak wedding months in India, and the Golden Tusk becomes a sought-after venue for grand celebrations.
In fact, after I shared my photos on social media, one of my college friends, Darshika Kishore, commented that her brother had actually gotten married at this very resort! She fondly mentioned how beautiful the property was and how she would love to return someday to relive those special memories. And I completely understand why.
The Golden Tusk Resort is an ideal choice for couples who wish to get married in style — surrounded by nature, comfort, and elegance. The property’s Plumeria Lawns are incredibly spacious, so much so that two weddings can easily take place simultaneously — maybe even more! Whether it’s an engagement, wedding ceremony, reception, or any other family celebration, the resort provides the perfect backdrop. With its serene setting, impeccable hospitality, and scenic surroundings, the Golden Tusk ensures that every event held here becomes a cherished memory.
And here’s the secret — the best part is that you don’t have to worry about a thing. The entire wedding management is seamlessly handled by the Golden Tusk team. From decorations and floral arrangements to food planning and overall coordination, every detail is taken care of with utmost precision and warmth. Having personally experienced the excellent food quality at both their buffet and specialty restaurant, I can confidently say that a wedding hosted here will not only look beautiful but also taste absolutely delightful. In short, the Golden Tusk offers a complete wedding package — stunning venues, impeccable service, and mouthwatering cuisine — making it a perfect choice for anyone looking to get hitched in style.

Yoga and Meditation
If you’re an early riser, you can begin your day with a rejuvenating yoga session led by an in-house trained instructor. These sessions are usually held on the lush lawns, especially the Cycus Lawn, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. It’s the perfect half-hour to refresh your mind and body amidst a serene, calm, and pollution-free environment. The tranquil setting makes it an ideal spot to immerse yourself in yoga practice. So, rise early, breathe in the fresh morning air, and embrace a peaceful start to your day under the guidance of an experienced teacher.
The Hive: Convention Centre
The Hive, the Convention Centre at The Golden Tusk, is an elegant and versatile venue designed for corporate events, conferences, workshops, and celebrations. Equipped with modern audio-visual systems, comfortable seating, and excellent acoustics, it ensures a seamless experience for all types of gatherings. Spacious interiors, attentive service, and customized catering options make it ideal for both professional and social events. Whether it’s a business meeting, family function, or destination wedding, The Hive provides a perfect balance of sophistication, convenience, and scenic charm amidst the resort’s lush greenery.
Library of The Golden Tusk
The Library at The Golden Tusk is a quiet, cozy corner that invites you to unwind with a good book amidst the serene surroundings of Jim Corbett. Tastefully designed with comfortable seating and warm lighting, it offers a diverse collection of books — from travel and fiction to wildlife and local culture. I loved spending a few calm moments here, sipping coffee while browsing through pages that perfectly matched the resort’s relaxed vibe. Whether you want to read, write, or simply enjoy some quiet reflection, the library offers the perfect escape from the digital world — peaceful, inspiring, and beautifully curated. What’s more? When I visited, one board suggested that they were holding a class on ‘painting with leaf’ at library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Safari in Phato Zone
Suresh ji himself accompanied us on the jeep safari in forest. My safari in the Phato Zone of Jim Corbett National Park was one of the most unique wildlife experiences I’ve ever had. The moment my jeep entered the forest gate, I was struck by the raw, untouched beauty of this lesser-explored zone. Unlike the more commercial areas of the park, Phato felt wild and untamed — a true reminder of nature’s power and purity.
The forest was dense with sal trees, bamboo clusters, and thick undergrowth, creating an atmosphere of mystery and adventure. The highlight of my safari was spotting a herd of 16 elephants, including a playful calf that kept trumpeting and splashing around a muddy patch. Their deep, echoing calls sent goosebumps down my spine — it was both humbling and mesmerizing to witness these gentle giants in their natural habitat.

Honestly, I find spotting wild elephants more exciting than spotting tigers. This was actually a unique safari because all the other safari jeeps were also more excited to spot the wild elephants rather than tigers. Some good change this! I also saw several spotted deer grazing calmly, a majestic sambar deer standing alert near the bushes, and a few red junglefowls darting across the trail.
The Phato Zone is known for its rich biodiversity. Apart from elephants and deer, it is home to tigers, leopards, wild boars, langurs, barking deer, and sloth bears. Bird enthusiasts can spot species like crested serpent eagles, woodpeckers, hornbills, kingfishers, parakeets, and drongos. Reptiles such as monitor lizards, pythons, and various snakes also inhabit the region.
What sets Phato apart are its beautiful forest lakes, shimmering quietly amid the raw wilderness. During my safari, we stopped by one such serene waterbody where a pair of herons stood still, scanning for fish. The reflection of the trees in the still water added to the magic of the moment. For me, Phato wasn’t just about spotting wildlife — it was about feeling the pulse of an untamed forest, where every rustle and call tells a story of the wild. It reminded me of my jeep safari is the raw jungles of Nandhaur Wildlife Sanctuary near India Nepal border in Tanakpur, Uttarakhand.

Safari in Jhirna and Dhela Zone
During my previous visit to the Golden Tusk Resort, I went on a jeep safari in the Jhirna Zone, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable wildlife experiences I’ve ever had. I was incredibly lucky that day — I got to witness a tigress with her cubs from close proximity, along with a herd of elephants and even wild boars with their young ones. I also spotted a jackal and several other animals, not to mention the rare species of hornbill, graceful spotted deer and other species of deer that are commonly seen in this region.
In my opinion, the Jhirna Zone is one of the most dramatic and picturesque zones of Jim Corbett National Park. It’s filled with lush landscapes, river views, and cobblestone forest trails, making every turn on the safari track feel like a scene straight out of a wildlife documentary. You can also explore the Phato Zone, which is another wonderful option for safaris. Interestingly, the Jhirna and Dhela zones share a common boundary, and both are conveniently located within walking distance from the Golden Tusk Resort. If you’re planning a stay at the Golden Tusk, I highly recommend including a Jhirna Zone safari in your itinerary — it perfectly captures the wild beauty and raw charm of Jim Corbett National Park.

Meeting the Gujjar Muslims of Jim Corbett National Park
The previous evening, during our safari in the Phato Zone, an interesting encounter added another layer to our experience. A local lady who worked as both naturalist and as a teacher in Anganwadi, had requested a lift in our Safari jeep, and Suresh ji, immediately recognized her. He told us, “She’s our neighbor. Her name is Anjum, and she belongs to the Gujjar Muslim community.”
I had always known that most Gujjars are based in Haryana and are primarily Hindus, so I was intrigued to learn that there’s also a community of Gujjar Muslims living around the Jim Corbett National Park. Suresh ji explained that these families originally hailed from Kashmir in North India and had settled in this region after converting to Islam some generations ago. During the safari, I noticed several Gujjar Muslim families residing within the Phato Zone itself.
I saw many of them riding motorbikes through the forest, carrying large milk containers, as they are primarily involved in cattle rearing and dairy farming. What surprised me most was that they had special permission to ride their bikes inside the national park — even though tigers, elephants, and other wild animals roam freely here. Yet, they seemed completely at ease, moving through the forest as if it were just another day in their neighborhood.
It was fascinating to witness this unique side of the Gujjar community — one that beautifully blends tradition, resilience, and coexistence with nature. Did you know about the Gujjar Muslims of Corbett before? If yes, I’d love to hear more from you in the comments below!

Souvenir Shopping in The Golden Tusk
One of the best parts about the Golden Tusk Resort in Jim Corbett National Park is the charming souvenir shop located right next to the reception. On the day of my checkout, I made sure to stop by early in the morning to explore it — and I’m glad I did!
I ended up buying a tiger-faced fridge magnet and two beautifully crafted artisanal soaps, weighing100 grams each. The soaps I picked included the fragrant Kumkumadi Body Soap, Haldi Chandan premium soap and Silky-Smooth Avocado with Goat Milk Soap (infused with natural goodness of Avocado Oil). The soaps were manufactured by Oak Tree Natural Skin Care – Nirvana Organic India.
These weren’t just ordinary soaps — they were fragrant, handmade, and looked exquisite. I also picked up a delicious-looking mango pickle that immediately caught my attention. Just from the packet, I could predict that it would taste far superior to the usual supermarket varieties — and I was right! The mango pickle was also manufactured by the same Nirvana Organic brand.
My friends also indulged in some shopping here — they bought a cute stuffed toy shaped like a deer for their little one, Bunny, along with a couple of Tiger themed T-shirts. Tiger shaped soft toys were also available.
I even spotted a stunning lion-shaped bottle opener that I really wanted to buy, but it was, unfortunately, a bit beyond my budget. The shop offers an impressive range of items including keychains, local honey, candles, diyas, books, caps, hats, binoculars, and more. What makes it extra special is its cozy and rustic charm — the entire floor is covered with small pebbles, giving it a unique, earthy feel.

The souvenir shop at the Golden Tusk Resort also offers a wonderful selection of local and organic products by Nirvana Brand. You’ll find everything from wellness items to authentic Himalayan specialties neatly displayed on its cozy wooden shelves. Some of the highlights include Herbal Chamomile Tea, Lemongrass Herbal Tea, Rhododendron Herbal Tea, Apple Chutney, Plum Jam, Forest Honey, and Apple Cider Vinegar.
For those who enjoy unique mountain flavors, the shop also sells Pahadi Mint Salt, Pahadi Hemp Seed Salt, and Pahadi Garlic Salt — all made using traditional Himalayan recipes. Health-conscious travelers can pick up Shilajit, Ragi Atta, Himalayan Rajma, Bhat Ki Dal, Gehat Ki Dal, and even Bhaang Seeds — all locally sourced and packed with nutrition. The personal skin care section is equally impressive, featuring Himalayan Apricot Scrub, Pure Aloe Vera Gel, Kumkumadi Oil, and a range of men’s grooming and skincare products too. Each item here reflects the essence of the Himalayas — natural, pure, and crafted with care — making it the perfect place to pick up thoughtful souvenirs or wellness gifts to take home.
You can conveniently pay here using both cash and digital payment methods. Just outside the shop, there’s a serene Buddha statue with water gently flowing into a bowl, creating a calming, peaceful atmosphere. The reception lobby’s sitting area nearby makes it a lovely spot to relax and soak in the tranquil vibes before you leave. Just as we were leaving the resort, Suresh ji surprised us with a very thoughtful gift, a set of Pahadi chamomile tea, fragrant lavender tea and Hibiscus tea. What’s not to love? Last time they gifted us some plants!

Car parking at The Golden Tusk
The Golden Tusk offers ample car parking space, ensuring guests a completely hassle-free experience from the moment they arrive. Whether you’re driving down from Delhi, Dehradun, or nearby towns, you’ll find well-marked and spacious parking zones conveniently located near the reception and accommodation areas. The resort’s thoughtful layout allows easy access for all types of vehicles, including sedans, SUVs, and even travel buses. The area is well-lit at night, adding to the sense of safety and convenience. What I particularly liked was how the parking area seamlessly blends into the lush green surroundings, maintaining the resort’s serene and nature-friendly vibe.
Driver facilities at The Golden Tusk
One thing I really appreciated about The Golden Tusk Resort was how thoughtfully it caters to drivers — something many luxury resorts overlook. There’s a dedicated dormitory for drivers located right at the entry of the resort, ensuring both convenience and comfort. The accommodation is clean, safe, and well-maintained, allowing drivers to rest properly while their guests enjoy the stay. Shower and toilet facilities are also given for the drivers and other staff.
Within the property, meals are also available for drivers, including breakfast, tea, lunch, and dinner, at reasonable rates. This makes it easy for them to eat comfortably without having to step out after a long drive. However, for those who prefer local food, there are also a few small eateries and dhabas just outside the resort gate that serve simple, homely meals. It’s details like these — caring not just for guests but for their drivers too — that reflect the resort’s warmth, efficiency, and thoughtful hospitality.

Excursion from The Golden Tusk
You can make a day trip to below mentioned places from the Golden Tusk Resort:
Nainital: A day trip to Nainital was refreshing — boating on the emerald Naini Lake, strolling along the Mall Road, and enjoying local snacks by the water made it the perfect hill getaway. I especially loved the cool weather and lively energy of the town.
Marchula: I loved the peaceful drive to Marchula, a serene riverside spot surrounded by dense forests and mountain views. Sitting by the Ramganga River, I felt completely cut off from the world — just me and the sound of flowing water.
Shivalik Mountain Drive: The Shivalik Mountain Drive from The Golden Tusk was thrilling, with winding forest roads, fresh mountain air, and endless green valleys unfolding at every turn. It was the perfect blend of adventure and breathtaking scenery.
Girija Devi Mandir (Garjiya Devi Temple): Visiting the iconic Garjiya Devi Temple, perched on a large rock in the middle of the Kosi River, was a deeply spiritual experience. I climbed the steps with devotion and was rewarded with panoramic views of the river and surrounding forest.
Kainchi Dham: Visiting Kainchi Dham was a deeply peaceful experience for me. Surrounded by lush hills and flowing streams, the ashram dedicated to Neem Karoli Baba radiated calm and positivity. As I sat quietly in the temple courtyard, I felt an overwhelming sense of serenity — a moment of stillness and connection that stayed with me long after I left.
Mukteshwar: I have visited Mukteshwar many times and I am fond of its calm beauty, far away from the crowds. Staying at the Chamomile Estate in Guniyalekh, Mukteshwar was an experience I’ll never forget. The property, surrounded by oak and rhododendron forests, offered breathtaking Himalayan views and pure tranquility. Waking up to crisp mountain air and the sight of snow-capped peaks made my stay truly peaceful and rejuvenating.
Bhimtal: I found Bhimtal quieter and more peaceful than Nainital. Watching the reflection of the surrounding hills on the calm lake surface while enjoying a boat ride was pure bliss.
Sattal: Sattal was a paradise for me as a bird lover. The cluster of seven interconnected lakes surrounded by pine forests offered absolute tranquillity and incredible birdwatching opportunities.
Naukuchiatal: The tranquil Naukuchiatal Lake, with its nine corners, truly lived up to its name. I enjoyed sitting by the lakeside, watching paragliders soar above the hills — it felt like a hidden gem away from the crowds. Do read my detailed blog on Naukuchiatal.
