Munroe Island- A Hidden Paradise in Kerala Backwaters
Munroe Island is located between Ashtamudi Lake and Kallada River in Kerala. This island is, infact, a collection of eight small islands and was named after Colonel John Munroe, the Diwan of Travancore, who is credited for integrating many backwater regions by digging canals. The island is known for its tranquility and beauty.

It’s really a paradise. So beautiful and wonderful. It’ll be a memorable experience to visit there.
Ok – it’s not very clear what is ‘coir’? Is it some sort of grass, a plant, or an already processed, intermediate product that these agricultural operations produce. Also – amazing photos!
It would be great to include photographs of Munroe Island so that we could have a better understanding of how it looks like. Nevertheless, I guess it must be really beautiful to visit with a canal cruise, and travel to when in India.
Kerala must have a big tourism budget as I have been many bloggers writing about it. It looks like there are many incredible things to see and experience there.
