HAVE YOU BEEN TO NOIDA BAR EXCHANGE – AT MALL OF INDIA!

THE CONCEPT BEHIND NOIDA BAR EXCHANGE

There is this very interesting concept which Noida Bar Exchange has. There is a display counter which shows the fluctuating prices of drinks on the menu. In line with the real stock exchange, the prices of drinks rise and fall as per the demand. For example, if a particular drink is much in demand, then it’s price will fall. If there is less demand for a drink, it will have a lower price. This works for me as I am adventurous when it comes to dining out. I normally order food and drinks which are not already popular. I have the same taste in food, cinema, music and books too. I didn’t know one day I will be rewarded for that.

To celebrate the farewell of my friend Jeetendra Sharma (He has moved to Mumbai) , I chose Noida Bar Exchange. It turned out to be an evening well spent. Located conveniently at the Mall Of India, Noida. Being a vegetarian, I ordered only vegetarian dishes. Below is a review of what I ate and drank.

STARTERS AT NOIDA BAR EXCHANGE:

Tempura Stuffed Mushroom with Thyme and Basil was the best dish we had. Served in a pan and on a base of thick tomato based gravy, this dish stood out for its novelty. Stuffed mushroom with cheese and spinach were shallow fried and tossed with Thai herbs. The thing I best liked about it was that its crust was crispy and yet it melts in mouth once you break open the balls and devour it. It’s best had hot and fresh otherwise it starts to lose its crisp exterior. Portion size was good. 5 big balls of tempura left us satiated. Brilliant.

Three Cheese garlic bread was another favourite. It’s a comfort food for me rather. The mix of Mozzarella, Gruyere and English Cheddar Cheese spread on garlic bread made it different. I have had 4 cheese pizzas but this was special.

Peppery Cheese Bites – I had the famous edible cigar for the first time. Needless to say, I loved it. Fried cigar pepper rolls were stuffed with cheese and served with sweet chilli dip. It is called cigar due to the resemblance of its shape to that of a cigar.

MAIN COURSE AT NOIDA BAR EXCHANGE:

Yellow Dal tadka with rice: It was of course the comfort food after all the bingeing on fancy food. I was glad to know that they excelled in the simple dishes too. I would have preferred more spice in the dal though.

The Smaash Lovers pizza: The thin crust pizza had toppings like onion tomato, capsicum, American corn, mushroom, broccoli, chilli pickle. Delicious, it scored in portion size.

DESSERT AT NOIDA BAR EXCHANGE:

Waffle – I had no space left after eating all the food. Still I couldn’t resist the waffles. Owing to its big portion size (4 pieces), we decided to share it. I ordered it with whipped cream and two of the syrups from the options they had, viz. Belgian, Blueberry, Banana, Cinnamon.

DRINKS AT NOIDA BAR EXCHANGE:

Marvelous Mango Shake: It was served in an interesting mug. Rich with taste of mango, it was a perfect match to the food. They could have done with less sugar though.

The Cocktails were well done. I liked the variety and presentation. They also made sure that they served it in the right glass. Being a former Hotel Management student, I notice these small details.

SERVICE AT NOIDA BAR EXCHANGE: The service was quick and courteous. The staff helped me decide the dishes I wanted to order. Impressed with some of the dishes, I interacted with the chef. His enthusiasm for food reflected in the menu.

AMBIANCE AT NOIDA BAR EXCHANGE: It is a happy go  lucky place. Interiors are upbeat and exude young, positive feel good vibes. Despite the fact that it was packed, it was not noisy. The lights are dim which helped enhance mood for relaxation. It is a perfect place to hang out with friends and family.

The view from my #SoulWindow had me drooling!
